Terms and Conditions for
Public Sessions
At All Cycle Bath & West (ACBW) we believe that everyone should be
able to enjoy cycling on our bikes and trikes in a safe, welcoming and
inclusive environment.
We are a small charity largely dependent on grants and donations. At our weekly and fortnightly sessions we rely on volunteers and part time staff – all our staff are committed to offering an inclusive experience with courtesy and we request that this is reciprocated.
Code of Conduct
What we expect of you:
1. All participants under 18 are to be accompanied and supervised by an appropriate adult throughout the duration of the session
2. All participants, including carers and support staff must act in a safe manner, and comply with safety instructions issued by All Cycle Bath & West (ACBW) staff or volunteers
3. Ensure that you/your carers, know how to operate the brakes and steering before setting off on any bike or trike
4. Be patient with staff/volunteers at busy periods as there may be a short wait for a particular bike or trike.
5. Wear suitable clothes for the activity of cycling, always taking into account environmental conditions. Sandals or open toe footwear are unsuitable. Please bring a good-quality waterproof in the cas if inclement weather.
6. Be aware of other cyclists and their carers at our sessions and help others to remain safe
7. Inform a member of staff of any faults that may occur whilst riding, accidental damage to cycles, ‘near misses’ or incidents that compromise the safety of yourself or others.
8. If you use your own bike at our sessions, then you are responsible for it being in a safe & roadworthy condition.
9. ACBW sessions are mainly run by volunteers, it is our policy not to tolerate verbal or threatening behaviour to volunteers, staff, other participants and their carers. We reserve the right to exclude anyone not complying with this policy from the sessions.
We will:
10. Try our best to match you, your family or group with suitable bikes or trikes
11. Let you know if there is likely to be a wait for your choice of bike/trike at our sessions and ask for your patience and understanding when this arises
12. Offer guidance on how best to enjoy your time on our bikes and the cycle circuit safely
Behaviour expectations
13.Participants must not engage in offensive, threatening, or abusive behaviour – to other participants, carers, members of the public, ACBW staff or volunteers. We reserve the right to exclude individuals who do not comply with this policy.
14.Participants must not deliberately damage the bikes or other property of ACBW, their staff/volunteers, wanton damage may result in the recovery of costs to cover any deliberate damage.
15.Participants must treat other participants with courtesy and respect, recognising that many participants have some form of health condition or supported need.
16. We place great value on the social connections that sessions offer. However, we recognise that frustrations can occur, but we cannot take responsibility for participants', their carers or family members actions
17.Participants should arrive at the scheduled time
Safety requirements
18.ACBW staff and volunteers are responsible for providing safe, roadworthy bikes, suitable for the participants’ needs. Participants are responsible for ensuring the safe, courteous conduct of themselves and those in their care.
19. All riders cycle at their own risk
20.Participants are strongly encouraged to wear approved safety equipment, including a cycle helmet. If you or those in your care do not wear a helmet, then this is entirely at your own risk
Booking Conditions
21.Payment is through our booking site, Bookwhen, and is in advance of the session
22.Although we ask for a bike choice, we cannot guarantee that choice but will try our best to match your choice
Cancellation policies
23.A cycling session can be changed through the link on your confirmation email from Bookwhen up to three hours before the start of the session
24.In exceptional circumstances please contact us by email
25.If extreme weather conditions occur and the session has to be cancelled for safety reasons your booking will be moved to the next available date
26.We regret we are unable to offer refunds
